Founder

Jon Klein

Jon Klein is founder, Managing Partner and Chairman of the Investment Committee for Westview Capital and is primarily responsible for the daily management, strategic direction and investment policies of the Company. Prior to forming Westview, Mr. Klein was a managing director, partner and head of Global Real Estate at Sixth Street Partners. Mr. Klein spent 13 years at Fortress Investment Group as Head of U.S. Real Estate Equity Investments, Partner, Managing Director and Investment Committee Member where he led sourcing, execution, financing and asset management of investments as well as portfolio oversight and strategy. Prior to Fortress, Mr. Klein served as a Principal and Founder of TriCap Holdings, LLC, a high yield real estate lender, and Diversified Property Group LLC, a residential and commercial real estate development firm. Mr. Klein started his career at Strategic Resources where he held various positions ranging from Analyst to Managing Director and assisted the company in the acquisition of real estate related assets. Mr. Klein earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hartford and an M.S. in Real Estate Finance from New York University.

Jonathan Schechter

Jonathan Schechter is founder, Managing Partner and member of the Investment Committee for Westview Capital. Mr. Schechter has over 25 years experience in acquiring value-add and opportunistic real estate investments as well as providing structured financed solutions within the real estate capital markets. Mr. Schechter recently served as Managing Director/Partner at Fortress Investment Group, where he was employed for over 15 years. During his tenure at Fortress, Mr. Schechter was responsible for the acquisition and oversight of nearly 9,000 multifamily units, several sale leaseback transactions and numerous preferred equity investments to recapitalize distressed sponsors. Prior to that, Mr. Schechter was Managing Director of a boutique real estate opportunity fund that invested in distressed debt and equities. Mr. Schechter received a B.A. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.S. in Real Estate Finance from New York University.

Danny Barnes

Danny Barnes is a Managing Director at Westview Capital and focuses nationally on structured credit, joint venture opportunities, and corporate strategy. Prior to Westview, Mr. Barnes was the Founder and Principal of PATINA Capital, a boutique middle market equity and credit real estate firm investing on behalf of institutional investors, hedge funds, private equity, and family offices. PATINA also acted as a co-general partner operator on behalf of institutional development firms on both coasts focused on commercial, multifamily, and mixed-use assets. Mr. Barnes received a Bachelor’s of Science in Regional Development and Finance from the University of Arizona.

Zach Karr

Zach Karr is a Vice President at Westview Capital and focuses on the acquisition, origination, and asset management of projects across the United States. Prior to joining Westview Capital, Mr. Karr was a founder of Whitecap Capital, a boutique investment shop focused on multifamily acquisitions. Mr. Karr has held positions at several private and institutional firms including GCM Grosvenor, RM Communities, Geringer Capital, and Trion Properties/Continental Partners, where he completed over $2B of debt and equity transactions. Mr. Karr received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Finance from University of Colorado at Boulder.

Associate

Cordell Lietz

Cordell Lietz is an Associate at Westview Capital and focuses on both acquisitions and financings across the U.S. Prior to joining Westview Capital, Mr. Lietz was an Associate at Eastdil Secured, where he completed $5B of equity transactions, with a focus on Hospitality Investment Sales. Before joining Eastdil Secured as a generalist analyst at the start of 2021, he worked as an Analyst at Longpoint Realty, focusing on industrial and grocery anchored retail acquisitions. Mr. Lietz received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate Finance from the University of Southern California.
